Description
SR-9009 powder gives you 2g of SR-9009 (Stenabolic) as bulk powder, tested to 99.37% purity. SR-9009 is an REV-ERB agonist. It’s intended for lab and analytical work only.
What is SR-9009 (Stenabolic)?
SR9009 is a synthetic small molecule made in Thomas Burris’s lab at the Scripps Research Institute. It’s often sold next to SARMs, but it doesn’t touch the androgen receptor at all. It binds REV-ERB alpha and beta, two proteins that help run the body’s internal clock.
Its oral bioavailability is known to be poor, so most published animal work gave it by injection. That’s worth knowing when you design an experiment around it.
The mechanism behind SR-9009
REV-ERB proteins are nuclear receptors that switch genes off at set times of day, including core clock genes like BMAL1 and genes that handle fat and glucose. SR9009 boosts that repression.
Changing the timing of those genes changes when the liver makes fat, how muscle uses fuel and how much energy the body burns, which is what the mouse studies measured.

SR-9009 research findings
Solt and colleagues reported in Nature in 2012 that SR9009 shifted circadian gene expression in mice, raised energy use and reduced fat mass. A year later, Woldt and colleagues reported in Nature Medicine that it increased mitochondria in skeletal muscle and improved running endurance in mice.
Later work, including a 2019 paper in Cell Metabolism, found that some of its effects still showed up in cells lacking REV-ERB, so researchers now treat it as a tool with possible off-target activity.

SR-9009 compared with similar compounds
In one line, SR-9009 is a REV-ERB agonist that acts on the body clock and muscle metabolism in mice. The compounds researchers most often weigh it against:
- Cardarine is a PPAR-delta agonist studied for endurance and fat burning in mice
- MK-677 is an oral ghrelin mimic that raises GH and IGF-1 and isn’t a SARM
- MK-777 is an acetylated version of MK-677 with very little published data
- RU-58841 is a topical antiandrogen that blocks the androgen receptor instead of activating it
- Ostarine is the most studied SARM, with human trial data on muscle wasting
These are often sold next to SARMs but work through other targets: PPAR-delta, REV-ERB, the ghrelin receptor or androgen blockade. Compare them in our SARM powders.
SR-9009 powder certificate of analysis
Sports Technology Labs doesn’t test its own products. MZ Biolabs in Tucson, Arizona, does, using HPLC for purity and mass spectrometry for identity. For this listing the posted result is 99.37%.
Scroll through the product photos and the certificate is there, with the test date and the chromatogram.
HPLC and mass spec answer different questions. HPLC tells you what share of the sample is the main compound. Mass spec tells you the compound is the right molecule. A COA with only one of them leaves a gap.
If anything arrives wrong, the 60-day money-back guarantee covers it.
Weighing and dissolving SR-9009 powder
You get 2,050mg of SR-9009 as dry crystalline powder, which is the cheapest way to buy it per milligram. Accurate work needs an analytical balance that reads to 0.1mg.
PEG-400 is the usual solvent for a stock solution, and the maths works like this:
- 2000mg in 50mL gives 40mg/mL
- 2000mg in 100mL gives 20mg/mL
Gentle warmth and patient stirring dissolve it fully. Check the bottom of the container for undissolved crystals before you bottle it.
Storing SR-9009 powder
Store the powder in its resealed pouch in a cool, dry, dark place. Adding a desiccant packet to a secondary container helps in humid labs.
