Description
Each TB-500 5mg vial at Sports Technology Labs contains 5mg of TB-500 (synthetic thymosin beta-4), lyophilized and sealed. In short, it’s a synthetic thymosin beta-4 peptide. Sports Technology Labs supplies it for in-vitro research only.
Background on TB-500 (synthetic thymosin beta-4)
Thymosin beta-4 is a 43-amino-acid protein found in nearly every cell, where it binds actin and helps control cell movement. TB-500 is the name used for synthetic thymosin beta-4 and for a short fragment of its active region.
It’s on the WADA prohibited list and isn’t an approved medicine.
What TB-500 does in cells
Thymosin beta-4’s main job is holding on to G-actin, the building block of the cell’s internal scaffolding. By controlling how much actin is free to polymerize, it controls how cells move and change shape.
Cell movement is the first step in repair, so that’s the link to the wound and blood vessel studies. The fragment often sold as TB-500 contains the actin-binding region, LKKTETQ.

What the literature says about TB-500
Goldstein and colleagues reviewed thymosin beta-4’s role in wound repair in 2012, covering faster closure of skin wounds and new blood vessel growth in animal models.
Bock-Marquette and colleagues reported in Nature (2004) that thymosin beta-4 improved heart cell survival after injury in mice.

Where TB-500 fits in the range
TB-500 is synthetic thymosin beta-4, an actin-binding peptide tied to cell migration. Here’s how the nearest options in our range differ:
- BPC-157 is a 15-amino-acid fragment of a gastric protein, studied for new blood vessel growth and tissue repair
- KPV is the three-amino-acid tail of alpha-MSH, studied for calming inflammation
- PEG-MGF is a pegylated splice variant of IGF-1 studied in muscle repair
- GHK-Cu is a copper-binding tripeptide linked to collagen and wound remodeling
They map onto different stages of repair: new blood vessels, cell migration, inflammation and rebuilding the tissue matrix. Compare them in our healing and recovery peptides.
TB-500 5mg purity and lab testing
The current certificate of analysis shows 99.67% by HPLC. The testing is done by MZ Biolabs, an independent lab in Tucson, Arizona, which also checks identity by mass spectrometry.
The COA image is in the product gallery at the top of this page, so you can read the batch result before you order.
HPLC and mass spec answer different questions. HPLC tells you what share of the sample is the main compound. Mass spec tells you the compound is the right molecule. A COA with only one of them leaves a gap.
Orders are covered by a 60-day money-back guarantee.
TB-500 5mg mixing guide
The vial holds 5mg of freeze-dried powder. Divide that by the millilitres of diluent you add and you have the concentration:
- 1mL of diluent gives 5mg per mL
- 2mL of diluent gives 2.5mg per mL
- 3mL of diluent gives 1.667mg per mL
Diluent isn’t included, and most labs use bacteriostatic water. Let the vial reach room temperature, swab the stopper and let the liquid run slowly down the glass. Swirl, don’t shake, until it’s clear.
Keeping TB-500 5mg stable
Before opening, TB-500 5mg goes in the fridge at 2 to 8°C. The mixed solution stays refrigerated too and should be finished inside about 30 days. Don’t freeze it.
Write the date mixed and the concentration on the vial before it goes back in the fridge.
