What Sports Technology Labs TB-500 is

Sports Technology Labs TB-500 is a 5mg vial of synthetic thymosin beta-4, sold as freeze-dried powder for laboratory research. Thymosin beta-4 is a 43-amino-acid protein found in nearly every cell, where it binds actin and helps control how cells move. The current batch tested at 99.67% purity by HPLC.

It isn’t an approved medicine, and it’s on the WADA prohibited list, so it belongs in the lab only.

Sports Technology Labs TB-500 options

TB-500 5mg costs $69.99 on its own. It’s also in the Wolverine stack with BPC-157 and in the Glow stack with BPC-157 and GHK-Cu. Every vial in those stacks is separate, so you can still study TB-500 on its own from the same order.

How thymosin beta-4 works

Thymosin beta-4’s main job is holding on to G-actin, the building block of the cell’s internal scaffolding. By controlling how much actin is free to polymerize, it controls how cells move and change shape. Cell movement is the first step in repair, which links it to the wound and blood vessel studies. The region often cited for this is the short sequence LKKTETQ.

What the research on TB-500 shows

Bock-Marquette and colleagues reported in Nature in 2004 that thymosin beta-4 improved heart cell survival after injury in mice. Goldstein and colleagues reviewed its role in wound repair in 2012, covering faster closure of skin wounds and new blood vessel growth in animal models. Like BPC-157, almost all the data are from animals and cells.

This PubMed search for thymosin beta-4 lists the published papers.

Sports Technology Labs TB-500 compared with BPC-157

The two are often confused because they’re sold side by side, but they’re different molecules. TB-500 is a large 43-amino-acid protein that acts on actin and cell movement. BPC-157 is a short 15-amino-acid fragment linked to blood vessel growth and nitric oxide. Studies that want both stages of repair use them together, which is what the Wolverine stack is for.

Mixing and storing TB-500

Bring the vial to room temperature, add bacteriostatic water slowly down the glass and swirl gently. With 2mL added, the 5mg vial holds 2.5mg per mL. Store it in the fridge at 2 to 8°C before and after mixing, and use the solution within 30 days.
